ABOUT
THE SISTERS OF THE PRESENTATION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY
Presentation Sisters’ Archives serve not only as a historical depository but as a reminder of the years of faithful services given by the Sisters. Archival materials provide knowledge of our heritage, an appreciation for the dedication and sacrifice of those who came before us….Nano Nagle, our foundress, the Congregational leaders including those brave women who came to Dakota Territory in 1880 and who opened school and hospitals to meet the needs of the times.
The Congregational Archives are the official depository for all documents and materials made or received in the pursuit of its religious and legal obligations and in the transaction of business. These documents reflect the internal development of the Congregation, the conduct of its affairs as a legal corporation, the individual and personal lives of its members and the people the Sisters have been called to serve in their ministries.
The purpose of putting some of our holdings into the digital Memoria Program is for their safe keeping and the preservation of important documents and holdings of our collections. We want all viewers to enjoy and learn more about the Presentation Sisters of Aberdeen, SD.
